What Does The U-Casadh Project Do?
We provide supports to people who are at risk of becoming, or have become in contact with the criminal justice system.
Through our Community Employment Scheme, funded by the Department of Social Protection, we provide rehabilitation, training, development and work experience for people who have been referred from our partners and all relevant agencies.
Our 'Outreach' supports include housing and independent living, liaising with other service providers and many training/education and therapeutic programmes.
We also provide 'In-reach' to people who are within the prison system, in order to work with them as they prepare for release. Our out-reach and in-reach service is funded by the Probation Service.
Our Roma men program (Atelier) is celebrated as a 'model of best practice', providing excellent work related, language and socialising skills to the Roma community.
U-Casadh's Social Enterprise is a multi award winning program that has evolved into U-Casadh Solutions please see following link

A Three-Stage Approach
Our approach to working with people who use our service can be broken down into three stages:
- Stabilisation - This involves working with the person around their most basic needs, such as, housing, independent living skills, access to medical services and recovery from addiction. Counselling and therapeutic programmes are explored as well as health & fitness (gym/boxing available).
- Supported Training & Development - This involves providing on-site training for those not ready for mainstream responses and then supporting people through the process of accessing external training.
- Social Enterprise - As many of the people who use our service find themselves socially excluded due to past issues, we have found that supported employment and/or self-employment can often be the most viable option. We support people through our on site enterprise hub and placement with our social enterprise trading opportunities in U-Casadh Solutions.
